Wow collapsed

Wow ceased operation today. All flights cancelled. Company states that those who purchased tickets with credit card should appeal to the issuer.

That's really a shame! And will have some, for the size of Iceland, big consequences in regards to layoffs and tourism.

....and on a personal note my CPH-YUL commute with Skyteam or *A will most probably become more expensive now....
Does anybody have any input on that?

Why? What advantage would it be to investors to switch from bonds to equity?

Last ditch effort to court a new investor, who would then be the primary debtor rather than secondary. Obviously didn't work.

They told passengers with bookings they’re SOL: https://wowair.com/travel-alert/

Wow served Baltimore. I never had the opportunity to fly with them, but this is a blow to BWI’s transatlantic offerings. Now it’s just BA to LHR, Condor seasonal to Frankfurt, end of list.

Well, FI are probably seeing lots of WOW passengers rushing to rebook their tickets to Iceland. If lots of people book with an airline, prices tend to go up quickly.

Increased variance in the value of your assets. Could be either good or bad.

Wow Air has ceased all operations, cancelling all of its flights and leaving thousands of passengers stranded.

Doesn't that just tell us how much inventory was available on Icelandair? Not a profitable routing then?

Did you manage to snag a 'stranded' fare from Icelandic?

Hmm? Icelandair is only offering these to WOW passengers who began a round trip and are stranded at their destination, somewhere between 2000-4000. Not all will take Icelandair up on the offer, and there are 17 routes affected across 2 weeks, something like 5-10 seats/flight will be taken by WOW pax on average. It's not that much and builds goodwill with people who were willing to make a connection in Iceland.
