Norwegian: Bulkhead or Not in Premium?
Does anyone have a favorite seat in Norwegian's Premium cabin? Is there any particular advantage to row one or doesn't it make much of a difference. I've assigned myself row one/side aisle JFK-LGW-JFK only so I wouldn't have a seat reclining in front of me. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I've only chosen row one myself as I'd read in Zach Honig's review that "When the seat in front is reclined, it’s nearly touching the IFE screen, making it difficult to get out if you’re in a window or middle seat. Bulkhead seats in row 1 don’t have this issue."
That said, a) I've never tried any other row, and b) his review was quite positive even though his seat was in row 2. I can say that I have been happy with both window seats (1A and 1J) as it wasn't difficult to get to the aisle without disturbing the passenger next to me. On one flight I was able to get past/over the long legs of the tall man fully reclined in 1B without waking him up. If the passenger on the aisle doesn't have her footrest extended I find it easy to get to the aisle and back.
Hope that's helpful. Have a good flight!

Hi there,
I just booked my honeymoon trip:
Norwegian Air 787 Dreamliner- LAX to Madrid Premium Economy Seats 1A and 1C
Norwegian Air 787 Dreamliner- Rome to LAX Premium Economy Seats 1A and 1C
This is the first time I've ever splurged on a premium style seat, and most likely the last.
LAX to Madrid was $1444.90 x 2 = $2889.80
Rome to LAX was $1149.50 x 2 = $2309.80
So I paid $5199. The same seats in Economy would have been only $2019 total.
The main reason I chose Norwegian is that I wanted a direct flight and they were the only one that offered them to these countries (outside of other carriers who had a
1 way ticket price of over $2000 per person).
I see you mention Row 1 is good... Can you share your feedback on if that's the best option?
I appreacite it.

Congrats on the wedding. Your seat selections seem solid. One caveat, I haven't flown DY since they reduced leg room in premium significantly. I am not sure I would fly the new version of premium, but I am comparing it to business class on other airlines. I put up with the previous version and DY's unrealizable flights because of non-stop flights and very reasonable fares. The new version is probably too cramped to make the tradeoff worth it for me, but we each make our own tradeoffs.

I flew Norewegian from Boston to London Gatwick and return at the end of April and had Seat 2G. A woman asked me to change with her son who was in 1F and I said No. For me, the two bulkhead seats on either side are the way to go. You can't store anything during take off and landing but you also don't have the seat in front of you in your lap.
1F which is an aisle seat in the middle 3 is sort of stuck out in the aisle and stares right at the restroom/galley. Not a side view but almost full on.
I was in 2G which is an aisle seat of two. When the people in front of you recline their seat, for ME it was sort of a limbo thing to get out. The man next to me was trapped and I told him to wake me up if necessary. He tried once to scoot over me but it was . . . VERY awkward.
One thing that was not obvious to me is that there is a button to 'release' the footrest so that it comes up to meet you. But the FOOT REST SHELF is also adjustable but with a different button I think to your left. Not where you think it would be.
The Premium seats are certainly better than sitting in the back. The food - I didn't eat on the flight - I ate nice meals at both airports before boarding.
Also, it has been reported in another FlyerTalk thread that Norwegian is looking for a buyer . . their finances aren't great at the moment with the Dreamliner engine repairs . . . so DO keep an eye on them and have a Plan B.
https://www.nasdaq.com/article/norwe...20180611-00470 Routes and flights have been canceled. I was lucky and both flights ran and were on time. But recently the Boston -Gatwick flights were canceled at the last minute.
