As far as I know, yes, nothing has changed. I bought my flights as 2 single trips rather than a return as the website at the time said that there was insufficient time to check in as an out and return.

I suppose I can always alert the ground staff on the outbound of my plans so that they can radio ahead if it were to be an issue.

The airport is the size of a modest house, and is basically a very decent coffee shop and a Loganair counter. Traditional airport security isn't required. I can't see a need to radio ahead.

Am I asking for trouble trying to visit in January? I don't want the flight to be canceled due to weather! What's the best time to visit?

Great to have Loganair back (properly back) - enjoyed my first trip with them in non-flybe colours over the weekend, small TR to follow

The opening of Carlisle Airport has been delayed until September. That's a real shame: missing the summer season.

They've just reported losses of almost £9m. Their first annual loss in 17 years.
The insane spoiler moves by Flybe are claimed to have cost Loganair £6.8m. I wonder how much it hurt Flybe?

Finally, the delay to setting up the (let's face it) BA codeshare cost Loganair £2m.

Hopefully things will improve for them - definitely more fun to fly than FlyBE!

Loganair adding Stornoway, Glasgow and Aberdeen to London Southend.
And have taken over several flybmi routes including the PSO City of Derry to London Stansted route.

Some of their fares are extortionate - over 500 GBP for 2 pax to fly GLA-KOI-INV!

But it's essentially a private jet, the planes are so small!
