As with many of their predecessors on the route. They have today announced their withdrawal from the Luton to NYC route.

I flew EWR-CDG and back recently, and was overall quite happy with the experience. I had actually booked the flights to LTN, and when that route got cancelled they placed me on the CDG flights and bought me CDG-LHR-CDG tickets (in economy) on British Airways. The cancellation was annoying, but I thought their proposed solutions (full refund or connecting flights from CDG) were reasonable. I had built in a bit of padding into my schedule as I knew that La Compagnie would be a wildcard, so it all worked out in the end.

Here are a few random notes from the experience:

*Art Lounge in Newark: I had printed out my boarding pass, but the lounge wouldn't accept it - they wanted me to go to the La Compagnie check in desk to get a lounge pass. The lounge was crowded, but the snacks were fine.

*Lounge in CDG: The biggest problem is that the lounge is before security, which was crowded and took a long time to get through. The lounge was clean, bright, comfortable, and not crowded at all, but the food offerings were uninspired. I had just had a big breakfast, so I didn't care too much about that.

*Boarding: It was a breeze - no lines, no scrum of unwashed masses to wade through to get to the priority boarding lane!

*Flights: Both flights arrived on time, although departure from CDG was delayed by about a half hour due to a mechanical issue. My only problems were that the cabin temperature was excruciatingly hot during one of the flights (it was fine during the other) and that at my seat towards the back of the plane for the other flight, the lavatory odor was pronounced and unpleasant. However, that was only before take-off - as soon as they pressurized the cabin the odor vanished.

*Seat: The seat is quite comfortable, although not lie-flat. It took a bit of adjustment to get the leg height just where I wanted it, but when I hit the sweet spot it was comfy enough and I was able to sleep for a few hours. One seat was missing part of the foot rest, but fortunately the window seat next to it was unoccupied so I just switched.

*Food: On EWR-CDG, drinks and a supper were served all at once - the idea was probably to get the service over with quickly so people could sleep. The main course of a lentil salad with sausages wasn't memorable, but the presentation was classy and it was tasty and light. Dessert was awful, had a bite and didn't eat the rest.

On CDG-EWR, the food was much better. A drink service preceded the meal; a bag of cashews and cranberries accompanied the drink. Sigh - no warm nuts. For lunch, there was an appetizer of prosciutto and some nice warm rolls, followed by a choice either salmon or chicken. The salmon was good, if a bit heavy (cream sauce and potatoes). The highlight was the excellent cheese, one of which was a disc of slightly aged goat cheese that was outstanding. Dessert was unmemorable, but before landing, they handed out another very small meal, which I have completely forgotten except for the delicious petit fours (a bite of opera cake, a bite of chocolate cake with a raspberry coulis center, and one other chocolatey thing that I've forgotten).

In all, I'd say the food was not spectacular, but very good for the price point. They did cut a few corners - bags of nuts rather than warmed nuts; no menus - but the focus on simple-but-good food generally worked, and I appreciated the lighter fare such as the lentil salad.

*IFE: Each seat had a large Samsung tablet, which I didn't bother with at all. They handed out headphones and collected them at the end of the flight.

Overall, I thought the experience was a very good value for the money. I'd probably choose to fly La Compagnie again if I ever need to go to Paris, but I suspect that their business model will prove unviable and they'll be bankrupt as soon as oil prices rise a bit.

I requested a refund for a booking on Nov 24 and they still haven't refunded me. Usually, how long does it take for La Compagnie to refund the money?

Booked the current promo for next year may/June. Any recent experience for the best seat for a couple? Currently reserved 3A/C (seems to be the bulkhead)

Flew La Compagnie in November : the seats are all equivalent in term of comfort. I would choose front seats to gain a few minutes on arrival, but with less than 80 pax on board, it's really just a question of minutes!
I would avoid exit row seats :extra leg room doesn't have any sense there and those seats will bring more noise from the doors, cooler temperatures, and potential less convenient use of the tablets/screens (+ no overhead bins directly accessible)

The company uses 2 planes : seats and comfort are to me way way better in their F-HCIE (not the seats shown on the website) than in F-HTAG (where the seats seemed more tired : the crew were constantly called to help people to unlock the seats in a quite sportive way!).

You will have a pleasant flight, just don't put your expectations too high. It is a small company and "low cost business class" doesn't mean business class.

Cheap oil has kept them afloat it seems, albeit with 2x daily CDG-EWR vv rotations. A pair of A321neo is on order. 2017 looks like they had a 78% load factor. The operation is now part of XL Airways, a french longhaul sun & sand destination specialist...

They informed passengers now that they will operate from Orly from April 22nd on and bookings have been changed accordingly.
This means that my connecting flights no longer works as ORY has a lot less connecting options than CDG.
I assume that La Compagnie has to refund the flights if the new Airport doesn't work for me but couldn't find anything in writing. Does anyone have experience with this?

You are entitled to a full refund - just call up.

this whole change to Orly vs CDG screwed up my short trip to paris.
instead of departing back @ 2:30 from CGD they want me to depart at 10:30 from Orly , missing a morning in paris.
any way i can induce them to book me on a later flight on another airline?

Just flew La Compagnie this past week and enjoyed it. No they aren't fully lie flat seats, older generation seats but you can certainly make them comfortable enough. Service was good, you're entitled to fast track access through Orly when you leave which really sped things up through security. Lounges at EWR and ORY are fine, they didn't seem any better or worse than other airline clubs/lounges that I've spent a little time in. If you're somebody that has to have the newest shiniest seat or product then no, you won't like them. I was able to take advantage of a good promo they ran and if I came across a similar promo, I'd try them again.

I bought tickets for summer travel. The customer service rep asked me if I wanted kids meals for my children? Does anyone have experience with La Compagnie’s kids meals? I’ve booked them before on other airlines and they are usually garbage.

So I am just back from a return EWR-ORY and am generally not impressed. I think it is a OK airline if you have time, low expectations and a cheap fare (I paid $1,200 on Black Friday). It should get a little better when they get their A321s (now pushed to June) but it won’t improve quite a few issues.

- both ways the staff was pretty much lazy / unhappy / unprofessional.
- we left 2 hours late from EWR, landed one hour late. Accepatble but the wait was very uncomfortable, as Terminal B and the lounge they use just suck. There are barely decent bars after security (cardboard plates...)
- their 757s are 19 and 25 years old, and it shows.
- food onboard is just average. Drinks similar. The iPad entertainment is also average.
- the seats are tired. I find them comfortable for angled flat though. It is in fact the main advantage of La Compagnie.
- nice amenity kit, blanket and pillow
- check in at ORY took thirty minutes. Understaffed counter, slow process, for no reason
- priority security at ORY 4 was very unpleasant, maybe just a bad day.
- buses used on departure and arrival at ORY

Overall it stands above premium economy and under business with legacy airlines but the main issue in my view is the lack of dependability, old planes that can go tech, delays, lack of professionalism... you get what you pay for.

La Compagnie just began their EWR-NCE service this month, does anyone have any comments on this route? I'm booked for early Sept, but would appreciate any information as to comfort and service.

I flew the inaugural flight back on May 5. It was not as full as the seat chart would have had me believe. I also don't know if there was an exceptional reason why the security line at newark was a mess at about 45 mins to get through - even the tsa agents seemed stressed and annoyed so I suspect it was unusually busy, but it was not the breeze through security I think they led you to expect.
Here are my thoughts:
Seats - it was the older plane - someone said this might change, and I'll let you know how my return tomorrow goes - older plane/newer plane. This meant the seats were angle flat and fine for the price, but can't be compared to the delta one seat if in the similar price ballpark. However, there was a huge amount of room, large tray for work and eating along with a lot of space for snakcs and drinks without the tray, decent blankets and pillows, nice ipad, and nothing on my seat was broken. No wifi was annoying, as I wasn't sure what to expect.
Food - while not bad, certainly not the best experience. If you want something you enjoy, pack a snack. It didn't make me sick, but I wasn't thrilled considering I had to skip the lounge meal (and lunch and dinner since I was so busy that departure day.) I also don't eat beef or pork (chicken and fish OK) and I can't say I would always have a full meal given the slightly fewer options that a typical airline.
The flight was a bit delayed in leaving, and arrived the the Nice airspace early or on time, but we had to circle quite a bit, so landed close to on time I believe, if not a few minutes late.
Customs was quick as was luggage.
For the inaugural flight, there was a little Fragonard bag for guests on arrival, plus they offered to book us car transfer, and there was a thoughtful bottle of champagne in the back seat with a note. I doubt those will continue after that first flight, but it was thoughtful.
Worst issue was the bathrooms were broken, so there was a line and some poor guy clearly had to walk the length of the plane on crutches.
It certainly was worth the promo price I paid, but if you pay something with a 2 or 3 in front for the round trip, I'd make sure I'm monitoring the direct delta flight or even connecting flights to make sure it's the right choice.
Let's see how the return goes tomorrow!

Thanks for the update! For $1100 r/t, I am not looking for luxury, merely a bit better service than I usually get in UA's coach-- but going non stop EWR-NCE :)
