Stopped by PDX this evening and was very happy to welcome Icelandair to Portland! This will save on the drive up I-5 to SEA!
Having been to Iceland twice, I can wholeheartedly recommend a stopover or a vacation.

Hekla Aurora - Just landed at PDX on 28R

With the welcome water salute!

They are keeping Portland at the same frequency for summer 2016. At the same time, Seattle is going to double daily on most days...

Interesting that the additional service from SEA will include flights on Wens and Sat that depart at 9:15 am, arriving about midnight local time.

I was surprised to see that as well. They certainly are trying to build their second bank of flight connections in KEF. They have flights coming in from New York, Boston, Washington and Toronto at that hour, which connect to overnight flights from KEF to a number of European destinations, primarily in Scandinavia but also Paris.
