Icelandair downgrades lounges and access in US/Canada
Toronto - used to be the wonderful Air France-KLM lounge. Now its Plaza Premium. An utter dump. Low quality food, no liquor. No WiFi except for the free airport one which is hardly accessible there. Dark and uninviting atmosphere. Unfriendly staff.
Boston - used to be the fab Virgin Atlantic lounge. Now its the Air France lounge which in Boston is a train station with perhaps more crowding than the general terminal. (If you are on a paid C ticket, I understand you can still use the Virgin Atlantic lounge.)
Icelandair seems to have an identity complex when it comes to premium travellers. They improve many things and then offset with the likes of these "enhancements" ....

Never been to LGW. Their website says its the "No. 1 Lounge." Judging by the name alone, I'd assume its a dump.

Grateful, Sir. We ended up booking boring old reliable BA yestereve. However, FI remains on our radar for 2015, when our flying patterns may change substantially.
