per TP press release on the OPO expansion + FLR from LIS there is a footnote that Nouakchott will be the next destination to be launched (still 2018 as the press release if from late 2017)
Next year the company intends to offer flights between Lisbon and Nouakchott, capital of Mauritania, a service that is currently awaiting government authorisation. per airline route oneWorld member Iberia this month is ending service on Madrid – Malabo route, as the airline closed reservation last week. Last flight is scheduled to depart Madrid on 21JAN18, Malabo on 22JAN18. This route is currently served by Airbus A319, 4 times a week. I can't say I'm excited. Crappy service and uncomfortable seats and pricing that won't be super competitive vs. Level .... maybe I'll change my mind on this, but right now I'm not so sure I'll be taking LIS-SFO non-stop. |

Great news, and isn't SATA / Air Açores starting (or recently started) a flight to OAK (or is it SJC) from Ponta Delgada (or is it Terceira)? LOL anyway from somewhere in the Azores to somewhere in the SF Bay Area although I think it may only be once per week.

TAP Air Portugal aims to double operations in North America in the next years and is expanding again, adding two new routes to the United States in 2019 with nonstop service from Lisbon, to Washington, DC and Chicago. The 73-year-old national carrier has been breaking records in the last few years, boarding more than 14 million customers in 2017 and being named one of 2018’s 10 fastest growing carriers. TAP will commence five round-trip flights per week between Chicago O’Hare and Lisbon on June 1, 2019, and then add five weekly round-trips between Washington-Dulles and Lisbon on June 16. Flights will depart Chicago at 6:05PM, arriving in Lisbon at 7:50AM (next day). Returning flights leave Lisbon at 1:05PM, arriving at O’Hare at 4:05PM. From Washington, flights will depart at 10:40PM, arriving in Lisbon at 10:50AM (next day). Returning flights leave Lisbon at 4:30PM, arriving at Dulles at 7:40PM. |

IAD-LIS route will begin the service in June.
The airline will operate five round-trip flights per week between Dulles and Lisbon, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The Dulles flights will depart at 10:40 p.m. each day.
