Renting Car-Gas
 

Rented a car at EYW, Alamo to get back to FLL. I just noticed while driving back car had almost no gas in it. Every car I ever rented for any company had a full tank of gas. Good thing I noticed this. Anyone ever got a car with almost a empty tank.

That's really one thing that should be on your checklist before passing through the checkout gate...mistakes happen, but a full tank of gas before checkout should always be noticed by you, part and parcel of a full and careful examination of the vehicle for dings and scratches...

Before I EVER throw my bags in the back seat or the trunk, I (a) do a careful inspection of the exterior of the vehicle, eg is this vehicle "clean" or I can easily document it for damage on the checkout slip; (b) do the power outlet(s) WORK; (c) is there a full tank of gas; (d) are there any significant interior stains or SMELLS. If it looks good, I quickly take photo's with my phone and off to the checkout booth...

I have got a few times car which had 1/4 fuel in the tank. Then they said that I have to return the car with the same amount of fuel but it is pretty hard to return the car with 1/4 tank.
