Hi all,

Anyone got any feedback as to whether tipping the garage guy/lady $20 could possibly get an upgrade to the next group up ? (SUV, upgrade to Full Size SUV), etc etc ??? Namely at Las Vegas (Airport)

(I've asked both for Alamo & Dollar)

In many cases, when cars in one category are not available, the attendant at LAS will tell you to pick a car from the next category up so I'm sure $20 will work:).

Another option is to Join Alamo Insiders (free) and they will have special upgrades available to the higher class. You also get a 10% discount off their web prices, in addition to special rental prices. Most are 3-5 days, which must include a Saturday night. My recommendation is to do the Insider membership first, and if no special upgrades are offered, then try the $20.
