Does anyone have any recent information about the future HKG-OAK expansion? More specifically, what dates are they aiming for their launch flight. I have yet to read any recent information about it.
Thanks.
Thanks.

According to a very recent (April 24) AP article, Oasis chairman Raymond Lee is "still considering whether to fly to Oakland or San Francisco Bay." I take that to mean that it's not clear which airport they will eventually use.

Oct 23, 2007 LGW-HKG
*In J class crew offered amenities for free (eyemasks, socks, and the likes) to any passenger needing any.
*Leaflets were at the LGW the check-in desk saying: "keep your boarding passes for future benefits - stay tuned".
Anyone with more information on this?

Well if Oasis does get it's own forum it's all well and good :P But anyhow a one stop shop thread instead of threads all over the place is a good start to make it easy for people to look things up.
I'm looking forward to my first flight on them just to see what long haul economy is like. I've done 12 hours on EK DXB -> KIX so this should be a breeze at only 10 hours

Oasis Hong Kong filed their application for Exemption of Oasis Hong Kong Limited.
On page 5 of the application, the airline provided some detail of the service and intent to start service on July 1, 2007. The proposed service would depart HKG at 5:30PM and arrive the same day to OAK at 2:00PM. The flight from OAK will depart at 4:50PM and arrive into HKG at 10:55PM the next day. The funny part on the application is how Oasis Hong Kong describe their plane as having 83 business class seats and 278 premium economy class seats. I hardly consider 32" seat pitch and a basic IFE system a premium, but oh well.
Feb 22, 2007:
Answer of the Port of Oakland was filed with the DOT
This was basically a letter showing support for Oasis Hong Kong by the Port of Oakland and the airport.
Mar 12, 2007:
Notice of Action Taken was posted. The DOT approved Oasis' application for Exemption. Heres a excerpt from the notice...
"Based on the record in this case, we found that the applicant is operationally and financially qualified to conduct its proposed operation, and that it is substantially owned and effectively controlled by citizens of its homeland blah blah blah yada yada yada the FAA advised us that it knows of no reason to withhold this authority.
Looks like everythings on track.

Don't know if this is the right place to post this, as this thread seems to have died a bit.
Does anyone know which aircraft Oasis are using to fly to LGW and YVR? I know that they bought the SQ planes and the ANA planes (with some MH planes coming on board as well). Have they refitted the seats? I.e. will all planes have the same seats or for example some J seats (depending on plane) will be cradle and some will be lie flat?

The 3 ANA aircrafts are not fitted with ANA's new F and J, thus, the seats are the old cradle seats. Oasis didn't retrofit the seats, instead they combine F seats and J seats into one class. They would place frequent flyers in F seats and other business passengers in J seats. They haven't change the seat covers yet, as they're still looking for a nice seat material. The aircraft comes with a business centre and a bar. They didn't demolish them in order to save money. The business centre will feature telephones.
PS: The thread info is outdated....someone update it please!
