KAL Wins Top Awards in Business Traveler Magazine's Annual Airline Wine Competition
At this year's Cellars in the Sky competition, Korean Air, Northwest Airlines, Finnair, American Airlines, Iberia and South African Airways took home top honors. In all twenty-six airlines participated in Business Traveler's14th annual Cellars in the Sky wine competition held at the Bull & Bear restaurant at New York's famed Waldorf-Astoria.
Airlines are catering to the tastes of discerning travelers by upgrading their wine lists to include a combination of the classics, with a surprising variety of new wines. Wine no longer takes a backseat to airline food and service; it is now a fully researched and advertised part of the flight experience.
Highlights of the survey include:
* Korean Air won the Best Cellar in the Sky-International Business Class
award with an all-French wine list.
* Northwest Airlines won the Best Cellar in the Sky-Domestic First Class
award with its varied wine list.
