Wearing a metal frame and lanyard as a necklace?

If my backpack weights 2 lbs, 6 lbs for a laptop, I have only 7 more lbs for my inline skates, laptop charger, power strip, clothes.

Thus I am thinking of multi layering my clothes including wrapping my towel around my neck and wearing 2 skate frames as a necklace.

The problem is these could probably be considered weapons as they're made of metal.

My airline is Air Asia. How do I find out if I can wear these or even have these in my carry on bag? I plan to physically wear the boot portion (it detaches from the frame).

IS checked baggage THAT expensive that you would risk having that gear refused?

What you need to be aware of is that there are airline rules about what is allowed in their cabin - also in combination with their aviation authority, and then there is airport security that is enforcing a general set of rules for all airlines using that airport.

You seem to be trying to cause yourself attention for both to question your intentions to get something like this on as handluggage. Metal objects per se are not an issue but it needs to be obvious to all concerned of your intentions and reasons for needing to take these items as hand carry.

Airport security generally won't care about size or weight within reason, they are concerned about safety and danger. The exception might be if is a low cost carrier only terminal and size and weight is also enforced at security. Concealing anything from security is a bad idea. Checkin, Gate agents and cabin crew will care about size and weight and safety and the polices of their airline.

If they are considered a weapon they wouldn't be allowed in your backpack any more than they would as a necklace. Doesn't matter where they are, they still have to go through the x-ray. Having said that, I can't imagine security in any country considering them a weapon.

BTW, your mileage may vary, but Air Asia isn't known to be too strict on the carry on weight. You can probably put everything in your backpack and not worry about it. I can't imagine wanting to double layer clothing anywhere they fly, pretty much a hot part of the world.
