Air China 120 min connection doable in PEK

Hey team, I saw a flight for CA from JFK to PEK (1 hour & 20 min connection) to BOM is this doable or am I asking for trouble? I believe they both leave from terminal 3. PEK arrival time is 6:20pm and departure to BOM is @ 7:40 pm.

As the minimum connection time for PEK is 2 hours I suspect this is not a valid connection, and should not be possible to purchase. if the ticket is already issued I would suggest that you should contact Air China customer services.

Minimum connection time between international flights within T3 is 60 minutes. Although in practice, the timing can be short if the connection passport check line is long.

Welcome to Airchina!

Ah apologies then, I found the wrong MCT.

So a 60 Mon transfer could be valid, the ticket could be sold, but we all know the queues and transfer experience in PEK can be suboptimal.

If the OP wishes to book, they would be well advised to consider the impact to their plans if they misconnect. Does it matter they could be late arriving? And what's the next flight AirChina would likely put them on? If that flight is next day, would the OPs passport potentially permit and overnight stop to be put in a hotel for the night?

AirChina customer service can be challenging...

Contrary to the title of this thread, it seems that the OP's connection time is 80min, not 120min.

It's within MCT and it's certainly doable. I have repeatedly made shorter Intl. => Intl. connections in T3 at PEK.

When the lines at the intl. transit inspections are long, I have seen short-connecting pax being escorted to the front of the line by staff.

However, as plunet has pointed out, CA customer service is unpredictable and delays at PEK are frequent, so you should certainly look into contingency plans for a misconnect. Not sure how many CA PEK-BOM flights there are...
