MU to KE separate PNR baggage

I’ll be traveling LAX-PVG-ICN on China Eastern (MU), with a 24+ hr layover at PVG, so I know I’ll have to get my bags in PVG. I also have a separate ICN-HND flight on Korean Air (KE) with 4-hrs between arriving in ICN and leaving. I’ve never had issues with other airlines but am unsure how China Eastern (MU) will handle interlining my bags from PVG through to HND.

I’m SkyTeam Elite Plus. The PVG-ICN flight is actually operated by Shanghai Airlines (FM), so that may make it more complicated. In theory, it ought to be fine but you never know with China Eastern/Shanghai Airlines. Anyone have any idea if China Eastern/Shanghai Airlines does through-checking of baggage on separate tickets? Just curious if anyone has any experience with this.

To reply to my own post, for future reference, this was about the easiest through-check of baggage I've ever had. I just showed them the email with the flight details and without saying anything, they checked my bag all the way through. Sure enough, when I arrived in HND, the bag came out. I am shocked that it worked so well!

Very good that it worked that well. And it's just a shame that so many airlines are refusing to do this even within the same alliance. A properly trained agent can do this in 30s.
