How to redeem MU "Eastern Miles" points on Skyteam

hi all,

Does anyone know how I can redeem Eastern Miles points for flights on Skyteam partners, or even check availability? The MU website does not appear to allow this and is remarkably unclear how to actually do this? There is some Q&A but its not very clear. There is also no mileage table hat i can see or a calculator so i have no idea how many points are needed.

Any guidance appreciated. I live in New Zealand but am happy to call a service center in another country to arrange if needed.

thanks

There is a mileage required table for partners in the membership manual which you can download here:
https://ca.ceair.com/en/content/Memb...-Handbook.html

I've asked MU about partner redemption before and was told a couple of airlines were available through the normal award tickets points search, but I don't remember which ones. The remainder can't be booked online.

One quirk with this program is each segment is considered separately so you have to do a search for each segment separately or you will never get any available flights. The points required in the points table indicate per segment cost in points. Any connections are a separate cost.

Best option for partner redemptions is to call MU. When I asked about partner redemption a couple of years ago, I was told that any partner redemption not available online had to be redeemed in person at an MU office. I don't know if that is correct or if the agent I was speaking with was incorrect and I didn't pursue it. Usually the English speaking agents at MU customer service at the China number are pretty helpful so you should give them a call.

do you had any progress with you award booking?

I would like to book a award ticket next year too but have no clue how to find an actual connection. I will go to a China Eastern office on Saturday to get a bit more information but last time when i asked the agent was quite helpless.

Is there any booking serice that someone would recommend for eastern miles?
