Air China - equipment swap regularity

My FRA-PEK flight next month just got switched from the 747-8 to a 777

How common are aircraft changes on Air China for intercontinental routes? Still have the 747-8 on the return sector, but I'm afraid that will change as well now.

I'm afraid I can't answer your question, but how did you find out? Did CA notify you? I have three A350 flights booked on CA - I will be annoyed if they change to anything else!

I received an email stating I've lost my reserved seat. On manage my booking, it still says the 747 is operating the flight - but the seat map is for a 777 (I confirmed on Expertflyer).

I'm assuming they've just failed to update the aircraft details, but have correctly updated the seatmap.

Happened to me on a SFO-PEK flight. 747-8 swap to 747-4. Lie flat to angle lie flat. 2.5k RMB cash compensation or 5k RMB credit compensation.
