China Southern and transiting thru CAN

YYC-YVR-CAN-SGN return trip in Y. A dozen of us.

1. Wondering about the transiting in CAN. Both YVR-CAN and CAN-SGN will be on CZ. 3h layover going there and 2h10m coming back. Assuming no delays, doable for transiting?

2. Now that CZ isn't part of ST, can the points earned on the flights be deposited on other FFP?

On 1), the answer is yes based on my experience. Last November I had a 1h50m connection SGN/CAN-CAN/LAX. I did not incur any departure delay from SGN, so I even had time to stop by the lounge for a quick bite and refreshment.
I cannot help you with 2).

Unless another statement made by China Southern or Skyteam, one should expect miles are creditable between China Southern and Skyteam partners for the entire 2019 as this year is the transition period.

Simply check the partner that you would like to credit to and if it's still on their chart, you are safe. As of now, many partners such as Delta still accepts crediting from China Southern.

While I agree with your assessment, check back on 10/1 when CZ, AA, and BA move to Daxing.
