Does China Southern price match?

I can't find a definite answer, although I think they do not do it.

Will they price match with traveling websites such as expedia or others?

I seriously doubt they actually "price match". OTOH, this may very well be a case where the website is only pulling higher priced fares, and a phone call gets a better price.

Many Asian airlines have channel specific pricing of some sort. You might even find Priceline and Expedia differing by a substantial amount. Form what I have seen, the mainland China websites (with the exception of Zimian) tend to pull high prices. OTOH, it used to always be the case that the Taiwan airlines (BR/CI) would have better prices on their websites that the OTA.s

Just need to shop. And that includes a phone call.

Ah, got you. I thought you might have stumbled upon a new travel website that I haven't heard of yet. :-)

Technically they do but with very strict rules:
1. Only CZ own direct flight which code start with CZ3, 6 or 8
2. Only direct flight or return flight, no transit/multi trip/open jaw etc.
3. Only match with some Chinese local OTA like Ctrip, Flypig etc

So in your case it looks irrelevant
