Vietnam Airlines - Layover question (Business Class)
I am looking at a flight on Vietnam airline's website today and the price is incredible - about 2k cheaper than any other airline.
The catch is that the return leg from LHR to SYD has a 15 hour layover in Ho Chi Minh City. I don't have an issue with the layover as I'll have lounge access but I was wondering if anyone's had experience with this and if you know if they set you up in a hotel (like Korean Air) or if I just have to deal with it in the lounge/get my own hotel? Thanks! |
Vietnam Airlines offers a transit program for longer layovers. You can find some information on the website: Transit Tour
|
I have friends who did this. They were offered the choice of a hotel or a tour (this was a couple of years ago, may have changed)

I once chatted to a guy who did that long layover in the lounge - he was pretty "lost" by thee time he got on the second flight...
Try to get out! Ibis Saigon airport is a few minutes walk from the Terminal, You can get a DayUse room there. They have a great rooftop pool & bar which you can enjoy too! VNA flies new planes to/from SYD & LHR now - so it's a no-brainer, book them!! |
