I booked an award ticket for 1 Oct TNA-SZX / 7 Oct SZX-TNA on SC using CA miles. I thought those days would be packed. I was surprised.
I usually stay put during the major holidays (going to yangshuo 3 years ago was a big mistake), but when I get the urge to travel, it's always easy to find somewhere to go cheaply... certainly not phuket or the Maldives, but business destinations like Shenzhen are in low demand, as are places that Chinese people dislike (e.g. gansu, qinghai, Xinjiang).
@tennisnoob: most of my flights are close to full in economy.
