From where? That makes a big difference (domestic? International? Regional?).

If CI is involved, then it's most likely regional or possibly international but definitely not domestic.

Regional: not too much differences
International: i.e. ex-NA, I would go for CI since both MU and CZ have F cabin.

JFK ideally, but would use any NYC airport if it helps... LGA or EWR...

Not sure if this makes a difference, but would fly J, not F. Thanks.

It does make a difference. On planes without F cabin, J is the highest cabin so you get more attention.

CI is worth a try if it uses the new birds on this route. The new J hard product is pretty nice.

It really depends on which city you're heading out of.

I'd love to say CI for sure, given the great new J product and the ease of transit at TPE vs CAN/PVG (ugh PVG!!!), but CI doesn't always have the best connection banks. If time is of the essence, MU might actually be a better option.*

*Provided your domestic legs are in the morning, undeterred by any Chinese air traffic shenanigans.

Also, if you're flying out of NYC... Aeroflot?

Very cool, thanks for the replies guys, and great point mediator. Will check out CI as well as Aeroflot. Didn't see them come up in the searches, but will check again.

+1, I will avoid transit in mainland China if possible.

@op: what route are you considering?

Eta: just noticed op wants to fly nyc-pek. Given the skyteam criteria, I'd go with ke in this case.

Why not try KE. Their all J upper deck on the A380 is great. And you have a very good lounge in ICN for transit.
