Not my trip report..
http://www.businessinsider.com/flyin...to-pek-2013-11
But...several questions come to mind...
How old is this kid?
First business trip?
Anyother questions, people can think of?

This is...bizarre. Business Insider's "chief correspondent" hasn't flown J before? Or is he attempting to frame the experience through the eyes of someone with far less travel experience than he has? Perhaps his beat doesn't often require him to travel internationally. It's just an odd article/photo essay/report to feature in a publication that one would think caters to an audience heavy with business travelers.
If this were a trip report on FT, then I'd give it a thumbs up and call it a day, but given the context and the source, I'm a bit befuddled. I guess, as a tech writer, travel just isn't a major part of his job, and he's somewhat insulated from other segments of the business world where this sort of experience is commonplace. The bigger question is why BI would choose to publish this (assuming they don't realize that a small group of FTers would be intrigued ).
*edit: and holy cow, I just clicked on the link to his bio and realize that I went to middle school with this guy. Small world.

Just imagine if he was on EK or SQ First Suites on the A380! Perspective and knowledge plays a huge factor in air travel these days. Still have some friends who say JetBlue is the best airline ever.

He was a really nice, positive guy (which is rare in middle school). He had a lot of friends but wasn't a jock or what one might think of as a typical popular kid. I didn't get a pretentious vibe from the photo essay/article, either. I just think he was genuinely humbled and a bit amused that someone would spend $8,000 on a plane ticket for him.
