Nice, but won't impact me much since I don't really use those anyway.

I don't use FB or Twitter (at all), but Youtube will nice to have because 1/3 of the time I search for an answer to some trivial question on Google, I end up with a bunch of Youtube links and a handful of complicated articles that explain the same thing.

That's the approximate (because both cover enormous areas) driving distance. As the crow flies, it's about 180 km less.... it's amazing how far afield this thread has drifted; it appears that others share my thoughts about the PEK CA lounges (yawn).

Air China First Class Lounge Access

I can confirm that you can access the first class lounge with a J ticket. I'm sitting here now. No difference as others have said, but I find a bit less wear and tear.

Arriving from ZRH in LX F and connect to Taipei on CA J. Access to the first class Lounge? How are the showers?

If you are star gold, yes, f lounge. If not, and just departing on CA J - J lounge. Simple. Your LX F flight is irrelevant. Showers are identical in either lounge.

Maybe like everything else in China they have a double standard. They allow foreigners, but not us people who look the same.

I don't think I've ever gotten into an F section of a lounge in China using *G either. Even in SFO, *G = the RCC or the SQ business lounge... not the IFL. I really could care less about F v. C lounges in China though. I have BA Gold which gets me into OW F lounges on a regular basis, and I am hard pressed to think of one that doesn't suck (except for HKG of course, but we're talking about the PRC here).

At LAX, you'll obviously want to go to whatever lounge is closet to CA's gate.

At PEK, I don't think there is an SQ lounge (even when flying on SQ, I've always ended up in the big lounge).

Air China is at T2 and does not have a dedicated lounge at LAX and uses the Air Canada lounge. United is in T7.

As for SQ, the last time I went through PEK, I saw a sign for the SQ at the Beijing Aviation Ground Service (BGS) lounge.

You did not mention if you have any status, meaning *G and above.

One of my segment from a US Air award ticket was booked as Air China "Fare Class: First (O)". I assume it is the first class and I should be able to access to the first class lounge, right?

I don't think the AC Lounge at LAX has an F section (since AC does not offer F).

At PEK, you can only use the F section if your departing flight is booked in F.

ETA: You could presumably use the *A Lounge in TBIT instead of the AC lounge (I think there is an air side connection), but that's a bit of a walk from T2.
