Garuda B747 Sighted at JFK on 5-31-13
 
I was landing about 6 PM last night and was surprised to see a Garuda Indonesia B747 taxiing near the runway. I checked the Garuda web site, which does not list JFK as destination. Anyone have any ideas what it was doing here?

May be Chartered by Indonesian gov for the president to collect award?

Yes, Indonesia's President has his own VIP plane, provided by the national airline Garuda Indonesia. It recently flew the President to Sweden and New York.

Yes. Indo President in New York to visit the UN, chairing a panel. Also to receive World Statesman Award from a private foundation.
