The first class suites looks very impressive, almost like Swiss's version (A very good first step for Air China)
Looks like they have chosen Continental's business class (Another good step, compared to their previous business class seat.)
I have a feeling that the economy seats is just a quick model (Not the real thing) So no comment. UPDATE (There is in fact PTVs in the seats, supplied by AVOD/THALES I5000)

UPDATE: Here's the seatmap of the 777 from CA

Looks pretty nice.

There's actually 2 types of configuration on 777-300ER.

As of 29JUN11, 77W will start operation on PEK SHA and PEK CAN from 26JUL11 (subject to further changes as this is 2nd postponement).

International service remains on track for PEK FRA from 01SEP11. PEK LHR is currently planned from 01JAN12.

I would hope so... the seats in the picture make Y in a UA 744 look comfortable.

F looks good, I might have to give CA long-haul another try when these reconfigured birds start flying.

Yes, as jimyvr says, there seems to be two different configurations for their 77Ws. There's one regional version (which seems to be a bit of a waste, seeing as this aircraft was designed for long-haul) with a 12.1" PTV in Business while for the long-haul version, it's 15.4". Seat type should be different I guess, but no other details. The graphics appear to be wrong, since Y is supposedly installed with 9" personal TVs. Hopefully they keep the 34" legroom in Y.

 Do you mean one PTV for every two Y seats? I'd like to see how that works out in real life... At any rate, the photo links posted since, show full PTV layout in Y.

If anybody takes one of these flights, please report back. I'd love to know if the AVOD is being programmed only with 150 choices of Chinese movies and TV shows in Mandarin-only, + bad Mando- and Canto-pop. :p

The one for two seats is the inseat charging dock. Sorry for the confusion, but yes if it was 1 IFE for 2 seats then alot of people would complain.

The new first class looks very impressive, the things that I don't really like is the CA logo on the suites and the coldness of the cabin, lets hope the mood lighting solves that problem. But other than that it seems that CA has the most impressive F class in China. (Not including CX cos their HK based, even though their in China. CX still rocks F class)
J class is nice, but why did CA choose a different product from their A330. Y class is kind of a let down, I prefer their previous Y seats instead, the new seats looks like AC's seats

I don't mind the phoenix logos, but I agree that it looks really cold and plasticky. The seat and suite itself looks nice though.

Sorry for the bump.

Anyone knows how many of those birds has CA received? And on which international routes are they used?

m.y Feb 10, 2012 2:29 pm

CA has 5 77w right now, used on flights to FRA CA931/2 and LAX CA983/4. CDG CA933/4 will be served by 77W in March, and CA987/8 to LAX will switch in the summer.

For anyone interested in *A award redemptions, I found plenty of availability in F on these birds LAX-PEK during the month of October (didn't check other months).

I'll be flying on a CA 77W in F this April and all seats are currently unoccupied. I reserved 1L because it is farthest away from the lavatories in front of and behind the F cabin.

Do the aisle curtains behind the F cabin but in front of the C cabin remain open or closed during flight? How about the aisle curtains in front of the F cabin?

Anybody have experience or opinions on the best F seat on the CA 77W?

Please advise as all seats are open and I want the best possible F seat on this plane.

ONE AVOD per two Y seats? ...! What is this going to be? Split screen? What if I want to watch Family Guy and the Chinese guy next to me wants to watch some Chinese Opera? Do I only get to see half of Peter Griffin?
