Air China LAX-PEK in F blows away UA and many others, really nice. The seats amazing, great service, even the catering really good. Yea the nuts aren't warm.

The yogurt in china is far better than US yogurt, and it is in good supply in the fridge, I particularly liked the peach oatberry

I even missed a couple courses here, because I was too full!
The power port was hard to find! it is inside of the arm rest that is right next to your body. The noise cancelling headphones werent bose, but FAR better than the garbage UA gives in global first. The movies were ok, but i don't fly to watch movies.
The crew took good care of the passengers, no piece of trash stayed on the tray or at your seat more than a minute, if that much, hot or cold wet towels flowed out as often as you may want them. The pilots were friendly and would stop and visit, and in fact we all chatted all the way through immigration/customs and even after as we all made it out really quickly. They all even remembered my name as we were on the terminal train, not sure if that is scary or good

At 11am they brought out some pretty good beef noodle bowls and fresh dim sum, the dim sum were quite lacking in flavor but with a bit of the vinegar and peppers they were edible. The noodle bowl (not the microwave kind) were quite good.
The yogurt in china is far better than US yogurt, and it is in good supply in the fridge, I particularly liked the peach oatberry

Just flew PEK-CDG in C the other day and was really impressed.
The seats are great, quite comfortable and wide enough for me. I would recommend a bulkhead seat as the little space for your feet was much much wider there.
We were all given the first class blankets, clearly marked with 'first class only' on it, as well as what looked like the same first class pajamas. They insisted on giving me a L even though I assured them I was not an L, but whatever.
Service was OK, certainly good enough. Had a little bit of an issue with the meal service, as I ordered (in English) one of the Chinese options. I noticed that I was getting bread and the guy next to me was getting rice, so I asked them....they said Oh no problem. Then, I got a steak on my plate....So, I switched to Chinese, and suddenly they understood.
The meal was quite decent, and really much better than the Western offering. The food was much better than on my Lufthansa flight, but that's Lufthansa. The Chinese food really isn't any worse than CX, possibly better, and the seat is only a tiny bit worse.

So I'm doing the right thing here for my April departure ex SFO.
I will commute down to LAX and jump the 1:40 AM departure, CA984 in F. Don't wanna mess with an ex SFO 744 right?
Need to confirm ASAP. Thanks.
Business connection to HKG and then jumping the TG A380 in F never hurt anyone either did it ;-)

Going LAX-PEK and the return in May, chose CA over UA based on reports here on FT.
Sounds like I'll have to use the AC MLL... I like the NZ lounge, wish it were that one.
The "book the cook"-like option doesn't seem to have anything special for First Class.

Any insight as to preferred economy class seating on CA's 77W? I'm booked on LAX-PEK with my wife later this year.
It looks like Row 31 and Row 47 are the exit rows, which I assume makes them the pick of the litter in terms of leg room. How are the seats across the middle: 31D, E, and F, and 47 D, E, and F? Is the bulkhead in front a hard one or a curtain? Is the legroom generous there or restricted?
Also, any comments on the two-seat pairs 33 A & C and 33 J & L?
