Just flew what was supposed to be the new 777 C from PEK-SYD but the seat seemed more like the old F. No complaint as I had a centre pair to myself and food and service were fine, though the latter was still not up to the SQ, OZ, NH level of attentiveness...but that's a cultural thing as CA staff are supplicant, nor are they as indifferent as TK FAs. No sleeper suit (not expected in C) but we did get the l'Octaine amenity kit and red slippers/shoe bag. Cabin was 2-2-2 with 3 rows in the first cabin, another 2 rows in the rear. The rear cabin seats were slightly different from those in the front cabin. Perhaps someone could clarify what I was flying on, but the configuration did match one of the seat maps I had checked out.

Looks like an A330 - should have been full flat seats...

I have seen there is sort of an 'in between' full lie flat... ones that are every so slightly on an angle. I think they have these on egyptair and Turkish on the 77Ws.
if they are full flat it opens up some nice options for biz class travel ex au

ok... so please tell!! was it in fact a full horizontal lie flat?? or at least, was it a substantial improvement over the older angled lie flats such as Thai/qantas etc?

thank you! yes I saw that - it still looks like it has a very very slight angle though? At least the backrest looks a bit angled - or was that taken before it was fully laid down? (these seats look the same as the Egyptair seat btw)

So what is the lowdown on routes with this flat seat then? Particularly interested in Ex Europe. Ps. I know/think it's on FRA-PEK, but any others?

some of the rest of the long haul fleet (772s and 330s) are also be configured with the new lie flats. These are gradually being introduced. I think the CA website is saying 2102/2013.

Was thinking of using some DC miles on a trip for Mar/Apr 2013, so route info/aircraft would be great. Other than ITA, and http://starflights.geapps.co.uk/, where might i find some useful info?
What's flying the MAD and ARN routes?

I was talking to the SFO station manager last month and he said the 77W will be on the SFO route in S13. They are phasing out their 74M and 744. SFO is actually going to a 744 this summer.
