I was on their inaugural flight, I would call the seating "premium economy." It's still 1-2 seating, but with extra legroom, and new and clean but certainly no "wow factor." I will say that the aircraft went tech before the flight so we didn't actually get to fly on it, supposedly there is a lot of soundproofing in the cabin.

Service onboard was fine, but not great, I noted a couple of blips (my trash wasn't collected, I wasn't given a napkin with my drink) but I assume that's something where the kinks will be worked out.

Security consisted of an ETD swab of my hands I believe.

Honestly I wouldn't pay more than commercial service for it. Happy to try to answer any questions from my limited experience.

how do prices compare to commercial Y?

The flight itself looks to cost around 150% of commercial Y. However,if you live in the area of Walnut Creek/Concord, I imagine it would easily be cheaper than driving/commuting/parking at OAK or SFO, not to mention the time savings/convenience.

The swab was maybe 30 seconds and done on check-in. I don't know if there is some sort of online check-in option. I believe all carriers have some sort of security process, which may just involve random checks.

Agreed on the point above, if you live near the Concord area then there certainly is a time savings benefit that would be worth paying a premium for.

It depends. The advance purchase fare is about 150% of commercial, but for last-minute tickets it's almost exactly the same as commercial.

Honestly, the best part about it is avoiding TSA-style security. When I departed from CCR, there was no security at all. The plane is comfortable enough, and the extra leg room and free booze is nice, but I'll pay the relatively minor premium to avoid the the TSA and having to arrive early at the airport any day of the week.

I was on flight 104 scheduled from BUR to CCR last night - CCR was having weather issues due to the storm - the first flight in the morning from CCR to BUR (101) was fine, but the return flight from BUR (102) was diverted to OAK, so they had to shuttle folks waiting at CCR for 103 (scheduled for 3:50 departure) to OAK, and ended up departing closer to 6 (arrived at BUR at 6:42.) They got the plane turned around and we took off two hours later than scheduled.

at OAK we used the Signature Flight Support center, which was a lot nicer than either facility at CCR and BUR. They had arranged for transportation that met us plane-side to shuttle everyone to CCR, but were also making arrangements for those of us who didn't need to go all the way back to Concord, which was nice as well.

My primary complaint was the lack of advance notice of the delay... we were only told when checking in at 4:50. Since I was staying at my sister's place 15 minutes away, I could've just stayed there longer or gone to Porto's for dinner instead of hanging out at the hangar...

FWIW, my previous experience a few weeks ago (around Thanksgiving) was seamless - both outbound and return flights went off without a hitch - they even accommodated a big bag of cheese rolls and potato balls that we were bringing back with us to the Bay Area :)
