Nothing is stopping this company from adding surcharges on all shuttles

Well, the military's not going to step in and stop them, to be sure. But if you're suggesting they can do so without threat of any legal liability whatsoever, things are rarely so cut and dry. There's more to JS's legal obligations than what it puts in the fine print of its ever-changing T&C.

This also applies to all OLD smart memberships (which I have). I'm contemplating whether I'm going to renew on Friday.

I'll know tomorrow when my tokens are released

Flying tomorrow so I should be able to see what the pricing is on these "new routes over 3 hours" BS.

If they are the "dynamic pricing", they should just require one token even with the "old" smart membership, right? Where did you fly today?

"Dynamic Pricing" is ON.

I flew HPN-OAK.

Today when I look at HPN-GGW (London Luton) it gives First Seat: $2,200 and one shuttle token for Friday May 26.

When I look at the same flight on April 28 it gives First Seat $3,890 and one shuttle token.

When I look at VNY-DAL a "new route over 3 hours" it shows a first seat for $250 and one shuttle token for all upcoming scheduled flights. When a particular flight starts getting booked-up and/or closer to the departure dates the price will rise.

Still Free

VNY-MDW (Chicago) still shows as free and 1 token.

I ended up renewing. I'm confused on the HPN to DAL shuttle. In the app it shows 2hr 45 min for the flight, yet it still charges me $275 and one token for the first seat

Why ? Less than 3 hours is less than 3 hours, unless these shuttles travel near the speed of light ?

Because dynamic pricing + 1 token is supposed to be for MORE than 3 hours. Less than 3 is free

So, even with a token, you have to pay $275 ?

Yup, everyone does, except perhaps Sophisticated Members.

I'm on the old Smart membership. On the flight yesterday one of the members got an a JetSmarter app message that everyone will be moved to this dynamic pricing for all routes on their next renewal. He seemed pretty upset by it, I didn't read it myself.
