JetSmarter is a membership program that allows members to fly on empty legs of private jets (JetDeals) and seats on scheduled private jet shuttles (JetShuttle).

One key differentiator would be the ability to bring in a guest. The paid (post-trial) membership allows for one guest, I believe. Has that been reliable for y'all?
Unfortunately the Access plan no longer exists. Your two choices are the full membership including the initiation fee or a "pay-as-you-go" plan where you buy in for $500 for the year, then pay the extra seat fee for empty legs and shuttles, even for the first seat.

Yeah, interesting question. I just did the math; here it is:

Code:
KSUN	3
KSNA	2
KSBA	2
KBFI	2
KPDX	1
KHDN	1
Loads have mostly been light. I haven't been tracking how many others on my flights, but most have been under half-full (despite often booking out -- it seems a lot of people book and then don't show.)

Or they do what I do and book as many seats as possible and don't use them. For example on empty legs I'll book all 3-4 seats even if it's just myself.

Anyone seeing east coast to west coast shuttles costing $795 for the first seat when it's suppose to be free?

Still showing free for me, but they said they planned to start charging for the first seat on flights over 3 hours for any members joining after January 1.

Oh that makes sense.
My membership renewed today and was told I was switched to the new smart membership. Would need to reach out to my specialist to revert it back to Old Smart membership.

That's interesting, why were you switched?

Interesting: downloaded the app and registered, without actually pay purchasing their membership.
That prompted a call from some German speaking sales guy. Weird: the call originated from Egypt? Not so trustworthy.
After having a look around for a week I deleted the app, as their offerings from Europe are not convincing.
That prompted just another phone call from the same sales rep, again the call originated from Egypt.
There were no offers made I.e. trail membership etc.

After reading through this thread it seems it's only valuable when living in the states with a certain amount of flexibility and destinations.

Have you noticed the new app update ? Now they're mixing Europeans and Americans deals in their app.. They don't optimize the user experience at all.. For the price that they're asking each year they could at least optimize UX..

I find this crazy. Shuttles are more and more overcrowded. Impossible to book a transcontinental shuttle ! Really deceived..

I messaged my rep about that. He said that it was the slow season, and that maybe none had left from my frequently occurring locations.

Obviously not true, as I doubt Air Hamburgs seven Legacy aircraft have had 0 empty legs in a month and a half. Have you reached out regarding this?

Starting to get concerned about safety with Jetsmarter. Been a member for over a year now and noticing more and more the planes they use are aged 15-20 years or more and break down regularly. A shuttle I was just on the landing gear test failed and we had to cancel right before takeoff, speaking with another passenger on board, her shuttle (different plane) a week ago made an emergency landing for a mechanial issue where they had a small tear and were going to lose pressure soon if not landed immediately. Another member said their son a few weeks ago was diverted due to a fuel leak issue on a different shuttle route

worthy of keeping in mind private planes generally fly a lot less (a Coast to Coast JS shuttle plane flies 2x per week which is approx 11 hours round trip. That's 22 hours per week x 52 weeks = 1144 hours. Some other charters may factor in, and the same plane doesn't necessarily do the same route, so my 1100 estimate is likely high). Commercial generally fly around 10-14 hours per day. At least 3 times more.

next worthy of keeping in mind commercial fleets are around 9 years (at modern end) and up around 20 years at more mature end, as an average. Delta, United, American, Southwest all have aircraft over 20 years old, many of them have fleets approaching that age. A new 787 might skew the averages, but take a look at the fleets. Not only are they ageing, but they're being worked like dogs.

Airline safety is without question, a necessary concern for everyone, but I'm not sure your assessment that 15-20 year old aircraft substantiates elevated concerns. Not discounting your personal experience and what you've heard, but I'm assuming it's been a spate of misfortune, rather than specific aspects of JetSmarter fleets that are anything other than within industry standard.
