Suspension Appeal Process
This is not a post about moderation. It is a post about the appeals process available to members as described in the TOS.
I have a question about the appeal process. The background of this question is that I was suspended last week and chose to appeal my suspension using the method listed in the TOS. I was suspended for 7 days in the early morning of 11/1 (set to expire on 11/8). I submitted an appeal using the form linked from the TOS on November 1st. This appeal was not acknowledged in any way by the late evening of November 3rd, so I re-sent my appeal directly to Randy's address ([email protected]) with a request for a message receipt. The suspension expired early this morning and I still have not heard a word from anyone about my appeal. For all I know, it isn't even being considered, because no one from Flyertalk has informed me otherwise. My question is... what is the point of having an appeals process if the suspensions expire automatically and members are not informed of the status of their appeal? If Flyertalk doesn't want to have an appeals process, that's fine, but it makes no sense to post an appeals process on the website and then not do anything with it. |
Since your question is directed specifically at Randy Petersen, and since only he can answer you in any dispositive way, we are closing this for his review and response as he sees fit.
