Deletion of Posts

Greetings Randy,

I was just made aware that when a post is deleted, only moderators can view the reason.

I think it would be a great idea if Mods would be able to leave a note within the text area of the post.

Therefore, others would know, in the minimum, that a post was deleted. Without this, we are left clueless as to why posts are missing.

Many thanks in advance for your consideration on the above issue. Have a great remainder of the weekend.

This is something that I too find frustrating. Although me must understand that the moderators are kept busy here as well as with real life pressures. I think that what you'll find is that the good moderators generally will do as you suggest.

What irks me more is when you spot that one of your posts has been deleted, PM the moderator who took the action asking why, and then receive no response at all.

Even more frustrating is to PM a moderator asking why a post was deleted and then get suspended for doing so.

Hypothetically speaking, of course.

... or then to appeal you suspension, be told it's under consideration, and then never hear back.

That's more in the "inexplicable-inconsistent" continuum.
