9/11 Thread Missing

This is the long 9/11 thread. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum...ML/002933.html

I believe this was the real-time thread as the events of 9/11 developed. I would occasionally look back on it, as it was fascinating reading... a minute by monute account of what was seen and reported.

Where did it go, and can it please be restored?

Good question. I was looking for some other older archived threads as well and came up with the same Page not found message.

Is there any way to make some of these older threads active?

A lot of people don't like this thread hanging around. I like it, but you can see towards the end there quite a bit of acrimony http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Richard, I think the problem is not with the thread "hanging" around.

Hadn't seen that thread before, quite amazing how strong my emotions are reading through it... I'd give it a http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/thumbsup.gif to be kept open

(edited to add code)

No acrimony on my part. It is painful for me to see, as it does bring me back to that morning. Just as I said in the thread.

I'm glad that it's not being updated - my hear lands in my mouth each time I see it.

I can deal with the topic of 9/11 - just not that particular one, since it was where I went for news when all the news websites were swamped.

That predates my time on flyertalk, I had not seen it before. Thanks for the link. It was very hard to read. It is important to do the hard stuff occassionally.

Those two threads alone speak volumes about the people that have come together & formed this community. The sheer number of people checking in and offering their hospitality is mind boggling when you remember that this is the internet.

Thank you for the links - I had forgetten all about those. They brightened my day a bit.

We must never forget those who were killed on September 11th.

Despite getting tears in my eyes I think it's important to read this thread again from time to time just to not forget what was happening...

Is this thread still around? Can't seem to get to it...
