How many rules' violations does it take?
Randy,
This thread is out of control: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum...ML/003619.html From word one, the original post offering to trade 30k miles. I would have to think that such a request is well outside the scope of what the Coupon Connection was intended for. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it was originally intended to trade items that would otherwise go unused by the original owner, or in many cases, just get rid of them (not even trade 'em, just gift 'em). When you start dealing with enough miles for a free travel award, that seems to me to be outside of where we want Flyertalk to be as a community anyway. From there the entire thread has degenerated into potential multiple handles and definitely personal attacks, and I do not mean just by the "offender" either. It seems to me personal attacks are not allowed under the new rules, regardless of the perceived appropriateness of such attacks by any parties. |
jap0052 has already had his posting privileges suspended. In cases like this, the person is gone without the one-two-three strike rule. This action was taken as soon as we were informed and we also contacted the person's ISP for action on that end.

Randy ~ What about the person(s) who made personal attacks against jag? Are you sanctioning such actions? Are you saying there are certain cases where calling someone a "stupid thug" or other such names is okay?
Although I'm 99.99% sure which side is in the right in the whole transaction, I personally would not think that would give them authority to break the rules also. |
good news

that has been reviewed and at least three notices went to members asking them to re-consider their thoughts that were expressed online.

And if so, how do we referee their actions. I realize I'm rambling here, but I don't have an answer. Any thoughts? Thumper |
I love the fact that Randy made a double post. Think he's trying to up his count?

Randy,
Thank you for taking care of this ... but now back to the other issue I raised: <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Originally posted by Beckles: From word one, the original post offering to trade 30k miles. I don't mind addressing that issue at all. In fact, I have posted my answer in the exact thread you mention. Please link to the above thread for my POV on this issue. Hope it helps.

Oh, one more thing. As for the double post. It was actually a test to see if a moderator status is technically exempt from the FloodCheck Control. Looks like it is and I have since deleted the double post. You'll see the first few moderators on FT go live this week, which is why the test. But as has been pointed out, posting a lot doesn't always increase your post count. For me, I'm a reactionary poster, usually only posting when asked a question or to resolve an issue on FT. With that in mind, I hope I'm never a big poster....

Wow! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif BTW- a "big" poster needs to be at least 6' or so, no? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif So I'm out too! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif Thanks for the clarification, Randy! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |

Did you, by chance, overlook the decimal point, Dan? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
Shouldn't that be .20x ? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif |
