Quickpoll

Wouldn't it be a nice idea to hold weekly quick-polls on FF related subjects? Besides dicussing it in the many threads it would offer a simple way to judge the sentiment on interesting issues... The newly elected talkboard could provide the subject..

The daily poll on cnn.com could be our template.

Is this the first quick poll? If so, I vote 'yes'.

Early results show that 100% of FT'ers would prefer a quick poll. Of course, results from Florida are not yet taken into account as most there have a problem determining what 'yes' means on the ballet.

Corrected some spelling.

dingo: if you click on the pencil above the original post, you can correct it without having to reply and post a second time. Just a tip.

I agree that we need an efficient method for gathering input from the FT members. This is one of the first items I hope the new TalkBoard addresses...

It depends on how the question is framed. Many times the way the questions are posed and the limited choice of answers, makes the poll useless, especially at cnn.com.

PG, you mean: do you like to fly: yes or no? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif I agree, their should also be a custom answer possible....

Please include me in the "undecided" count.

Are you referring to a poll other than the ones we currently do? I just want to make sure i understand this poll is in addition to those we already take.

I happen to be fond of polls and we have the technology in house. More info will help me but i am convinced that FlyerTalkers should always be the pulse of the ytaveling public. We actually have some new pools about ready to launch called 'indexes' which are built on the idea of polling for award availability and polling for upgrade ability so look for those real soon.

But first, look over all the polls we currently have and have done and maybe we need just to link them better?

Thanks Randy,

I had never seen those polls before (shame on me http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif) but was looking for something more quick, just a little one-click 24 hour long thingy with in-the-news kind of stuff.

I was aware of airpoll. It is fairly easy for an individual to vote multiple times on these, even though there is some rudimentary checking. So this would have to be combined with the FT login mechanism to ensure that one does not vote multiple times.

where is air poll?..... edit to add .... why isn't it on flyertalk?
