Page numbers in the forums!

I love it Randy. This is fabulous. There are many threads that we all return to, to see the latest responses and I usually remember the last page I was on. This is great. I can click on FT Community, find the thread, and go straight to the last page.

I can't wait until the new board. It can only get better.

Thanks Randy.

noticed this as well...thanks, Randy & crew.

tovaz Jun 1, 2001 8:26 pm

I agree, great idea. One less click for ol' tovaz. Thanks, Randy and the FT group.

May I chime in and say I love the new code! Are there other changes/improvements that are not as readily noticable as the page numbers?

rcs85551 Jun 2, 2001 3:46 am

This is a very good change, especially with several pretty long threads going on right now. It's greatly appreciated!

Nice feature. I wonder how the threads with 10-15 pages will come up on screen... (have yet to see one of those long ones).

I miss the scoreboard, especially as the total number of FT posts soars toward a half million! Just curious if the elimination of the counter was purposeful or inadvertent.

Very good upgrade folks. Thanks for the continued committment.

Randy Petersen Jun 4, 2001 8:14 am

We still are working with the new code and the FT Evangelist will return as will some of the other things many members like. Over the next two weeks will probably some of the most changes, though i can tell you we have decided to forego some of the new things we would like to do for the sake of board performance. As always, we value the topic and information over all. Thanks for noticing the little things, though we have some big things coming up.....

as a dedicated mac user I am very pleased that the new coding got rid of mac only glitches I'd experienced and the board is MUCH faster! THANKS!!

MisterNice Jun 4, 2001 7:35 pm

Nice job Randy. You and your staff really did your homework and came up with a real honest-to-goodness winner. FT seems faster, makes far better use of the screen width, the lightbulbs are even lighted (maybe not so for the California FTers) etc. Actually I dont miss the Evan.... title, so I may post MORE and MORE.

Considering:

1) I don't have to pay for this board

and

2) There are only very few ad's

I would like to join in in thanking the team on improving the board, the speed is great!

I am very new to the board, but do love the inital page choice! There have been many that I have been keeping track of, and is so nice to be able to click to where I last viewed right away! May be a 'minor thing', but is nice for the ease of use!

I miss the FT rating, but question it being rated just on number of posts (Doc comes to mind -- not picking on him personally, but as an example of numerous posts that while informative are not necessarily 'advice') I have been reading and reading, and have come to 'know' some posters, from their previous posts, but having different levels of 'member' helps to judge the weight of the advice, depending on the topic. I may jabberjaw in a topic, but have no qualification at an 'expert', or any level higher than a member just because I like to ask or talk -- and am horrified that I might be listed a a 'good source' of information just because I post. On the other hand there are some that have had few posts, but they give wonderful, helpful information (not to dismiss those that both post often and give great information!). Guess it really doesn't matter -- under the heading of 'buyer beware' of taking any advice -- but the designation levels were nice to know who was active (giver) and who was not.
(edited to correct spelling -- sorry about that!)

Gracias http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif The threads are so easier to navigate with the page numbers in the forums. But most of all, I love this bulletin board ! Great job..
