A. I am not into titles, I am into earning extra mileage.

B. What does this have to do with flaming, it is about following rules that apply to everyone, not those YOU decide are exempt from them.

C. Did you even read this entire thread? I mentioned that in this case it was probably okay for 2 but not 3 or more.

I received the same note from Randy. I wasn't really offended -- I mean, how could he know that I suffered from Multiple Personality Disorder (I suspect I'm not the only one around here), and that all 680 of my personalities, unknown to me, each signed up for FT accounts on the same e-mail address.

Since my therapy is complete, it is time to bid goodbye to such famous posters as My Friend Flicka, Boris Jerimiah Putnik, Tobor the Eighth Man, Whack-a-doodle, Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport, Dolly Madison, E Pluribus Unim, A Man Called Horse, Pumpernickel, Lord Dudley, Abin Sur, Bettlebaum, A Boy Named Sue, Nosferatu, Dr. Strangeglove, {opus1, opus2, ... opusn} where n< infinity, Paste-Pot Pete, Joan of Arc, Crazy Eddie, and several hundred others created by the dark recesses of my once-diseased mind.

Of course, my therapist also said I like to make things up...

How sad. A form letter e-mail from the owner, ceo and president to his users and customers. I know customers (us) that have fired whole companies for less than this. Maybe a simple reminder that Flyertalk exists because of the customers (us) is in order.

Just for clarification regarding Rudi's post. Here is the exact quote from the letter dealing with his situation: "I also understand that in a family email address, several members may be registered and this is certainly OK." This is FYI as it may not have been clear in seeing subsequent posts on this issue. Now you know the rest of the story.

Recall the former Email from Randy:

"Moderators are cool. We are likely to begin moderating The Buzz and FlyerTalk Community soon, with a few select members of the community itself. We want 2001 to be free of any flaming and alternative topic breakouts and think we may have a solution for this. Our goal is to first establish a
set of standards and responsibility for any moderator to adhere to before introducing."

----

So it's coming!

And recall also that we did previously ask, if not clamor, for some action:

"Randy, Please rip off those masks!!!!"

Thanx for the clarification, Randy.

I'm sure you must know, but it's worth repeating, that most of us very much appreciate your work and support.

It's really frustrating to see so many long-time, informative, entertaining members retire because of one guy's repeated and incorrigible intemperance.

JRF-- Ive gone back & re-read my post and it sounds like Im barking at you. Please accept my apologies. I guess we just dont agree on this issue, I think that the real negative impact of multiple handles is limited to those cases that are used to insult/flame/attack others, while the use of multiple aliases in most cases just adds a little color/humour to what is already a great bulletin board.

Again, I meant no personal attack with my post directed to you. I hope you accept my apology.

Without expressing an opinion on the merits of the original post of Gaucho100k or the response of JRF, the previous post marks the sort of civilized behavior that we should all bring to FlyerTalk (as well as the rest of our lives) and that we have a right to expect from the others in this forum.

OMNI to opus17:

There's nothing wrong with MPD, no matter how many persona are involved.

My motto has always been...Schizophrenia is better than dining alone.

Shadow: I always heard it as "With schizophrenia you're never alone."

(Mental health professionals and purists: Yes, I know. But there's an entire catalog of jokes that make no sense if you have to be accurate.)

Opus17: You know how I like preposterously obscure references. Tobor the Eighth Man! You get the internetus obscurantus award!

I am baffled by [b]Opus XVII[b]'s references.

[b]E Pluribus Unum[b] would have been a splendid name, prefectly fitting the situation, but was the misspelling of Unum an intentional reference far too obscure for my weak mind?

And what's with Dick Stuart? 17 betrays not only his geezerhood but his futile fanhood for the likes of Don Buddin, Pumpsie Green, Felix Mantilla, and maybe even the other Throneberry, Faye.
