This would address all the concerns some have about privacy and email, wouldn't it? If you automatically got an FT email address w/ registration, the "no email, no play" issues are resolved.. I think it's a great idea!

It's a thought but it wouldn't interest me. I have several email accounts already. If I want "anonymous" email I can open yet another account with mail.com or hotmail.
What I really like, though, Randy, is the tremendous spirit you apply to FlyerTalk, and the fact that you have this idea. I appreciate it. |

I enjoy these boards very much. They have been valuable learning and sharing places. I have come in touch with some wonderful people who would have never ever come my way. I'm comparatively new (something certain members were at pains to point out) and all I can say is I would give any information about myself that you requested. I'd be a litle more reticent about all my details being available to all and sundry. I witheld my email until I was quite certain of what was what. I have released it now. I can always ignore any messages that displeased me. I certainly think that having seen some slanging matches break out on the boards that some form of mediation needs to go on to stop some of the more extreme forms of behaviour. Those who do this are in a minority. Do by all means turn this device on. As someone said it should have been on years ago! Thank you for this place, the problem is it is quite addictive. |

The company receives hundreds of complaints each week from customers who receive unsolicited e-mails, or spams, after using the online bidding system, eBay spokesman Kevin Pursglove said Thursday. ``It's one of the biggest source of complaints that we get,'' he said. |
Others feared what would happen should the company's e-mail servers crash.
``How reliable is their e-mail forwarding system going to be?'' asked one user on the AuctionWatch discussion board. ``I don't want e-mails that were sent an hour before the auction closed to be delivered 10 minutes after it closed.'' |
