Noted 2 weeks ago an error coming from Air Canada's change of policy:

On the compilation of webfares, it says that you can call to AC reservations to book as long as you have the coupon number. As of 7/15 they changed that--you must go through the Internet now.

Semi-true. You can also book them through a travel agent, though not by calling AC yourself.

I think this is done to lighten the loads on those AC agents who are blasted with calls everyday from they time they start work til they finish and also an attempt to lessen wait time.
