HELP!! Conga out of control!
 

I think it’s great that with the recent phenomenon of conga lines on these boards everyone is helping each other out trying to maximize miles. But as a reader who cares primarily only about status miles, the explosion of congas is making it harder and harder to find the information that I care to read. Now not only has the Buzz been co-opted by conga lines offering miles, now the conga for cash lines have begun in Buzz and Omni. Sometimes the congas even make their way into the airline specific forums.

As I say, I have nothing at all against the conga lines nor the people who participate in them. But please, for the love of the Board, couldn’t you PLEASE open a “conga” forum. Or designate the Buzz as conga central. I’m at the point where I’m lucky if I can set aside an hour a day for FT and regretfully I still browse at a maximum of 56k. More and more I am finding that I am missing threads that are either of interest to me or that I have something to add to until it is too late.

I know this has been discussed elsewhere, but I am imploring you personally, Randy. After all, you da man!

I don't even bother with Buzz, Omni, In the News. Noise level approaches that of a Led Zepplin concert in the Red Rocks -- way too much. Just take a gander at all the zero reply threads or count the number of 3rd or 4th generation conga routines. Phhhhfewwwwy!

I agree with Matt that those interested in Congas should have a place to go, but that The Buzz should be restricted to flight related points. Maybe just two categories, i.e., "Flight Related Miles" and "Nonn Flight Related Miles". It has gotten to the point where I never open The Buzz, OMNI or News.

Yes, we are aware of this phenom and have plans to try and control it. Within the next week (hopefully) we'll be starting a new forum for congas and MyPoints, etc. What we are trying to assertain is the effort it would take to manually move each of these threads from where they are now to this new forum. This is very tedious work, but I think it is necessary to get the buzz away from the buzz. So, hold tight for a little while longer because i like visiting the "Old" Buzz and still consider it the best part of the site. Thanks for the direction.......

Thank you Randy. I too have stopped going to the Buzz, General Travel and even OMNI becuase of all this conga stuff.

I love miles but I don't have time to jump on every offer.
