Bag Tags?
There has been much conversation to date about bag tags to be distributed at the PIP. I was wondering if that occured and what those of us devoted Flyertalkers could do to recieve one.
I saw something somewhere about a merchandise site for the purchase of flyertalk brand items and was not sure if this includes the tags we have all looked forward to so much. Thanks, ------------------ __________________________________________ Two wrongs may not make a right, but three lefts do. |
BLADE, click on the 'Store' tab at the top of the opening FlyerTalk screen...
|
I just ordered a couple of the tags.
Nice touch: Randy's web site accepts Diners! I'm 5 miles closer to that next trip to wherever on the airline of my choice! My order for 2 tags at $1.50 each priced at $5.00. I assume the extra $2 is for shipping, but it's not clear. Most e-commerce sites break out the order into separate line items for cost of shipping vs. cost of merchandise. Problem: the page describing shipping costs for the tags has errors. The section that talks about the tags has references to the cost of "pins." I am truly not cheap, but what ever happened to the idea that the folks that first populated this board would be sent complimentary tags. I even remember Bryan posting that he had a list of 150 or so that had really gotten things going around here for purposes of sending out the tags.
I will ultimately buy a couple if none are sent out comp, but I guess I had a different understanding. Also, were comp tags handed out at the PIP? I remember a discussion that those active flyertalkers that could not make it would have them sent to them. Could someone from WebFlyer comment. P.S. this is most definitely not a rant. I get so much value and comradeship out of this board I would never think of it that way. Just looking for a better understanding if the original idea changed. Thanks for a great site, ------------------ __________________________________________ Two wrongs may not make a right, but three lefts do. |
deleted double post.

Yes, BLADE, those of us at the PIP got both a FT tag and a pin. I'm sure they will be sent out as promised previously.
Be patient... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |
From the numerous calls that we have received here at WebFlyer, we realize that the store area is not as customer friendly as it could be....We are currently making some changes to the pages that will clearly identify item prices and also shipping and handling charges. Thank you for your feedback and patience as we make these changes.

I just ordered my three luggage tags...keep you eyes open, people!!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
|
I KNOW THEY ARE FOR SALE!! I asked a question about the complimentary tags that were discussed earlier this year and provided to those that attended PIP.
READ ALL OF MY POST(S)! ------------------ __________________________________________ Two wrongs may not make a right, but three lefts do. |
Could someone please send BLADE some FT tags?
Getting a little antsy, are we...? You'll get the plastic ones...we got the solid brass, engraved tags along with a FT pin that had a 1/2 ct. diamond in it. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif |
Shadow: Love it! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
p.s. I myself ordered (and will pay for) the cheesy plastic tags and the diamondless-pins. The S&H charges ARE a bit steep me thinks. |
Sorry for the passive agressive post.
The forum is its own reward, tags or no tags. ------------------ __________________________________________ Two wrongs may not make a right, but three lefts do. |
hey, i'm with blade - i remember it exactly as he states in his posts.
|
Shadow,
You forgot to tell them about the diamond studded FlyerTalk.com T-Shirt that came with the luggage tag and pin. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif They were on our chairs at the dinner meeting. |
Newself,
You're violating the non-disclosure agreement http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif Craig |

Ok, arturo, even though you stood up the beautiful, charming Wingless and left her sad and lonely for you while PremEx slaved away on the website at the PIP, I still think you are an OK good guy and I will send you a bag tag and a FT pin if you send me your name and address.
Incidentally, Wingless is not only very beautiful and very charming, but also very high maintenance--needs big rocks of the pure carbon variety, a private airplane and a castle on the Pacific water--not made of sand. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif |
Punki, per your revelation about Wingless's wants and needs, I shall go out tomorrow and buy her a bag of Kingsford Charcoal. The requested seaside Castle shall be constructed on the shores of Lantau Island in Hong Kong (watch for the grand opening in 2005). As for the Private Plane, I think there was one in her PIP Goodie Bag. We aim to please.

Si, Wingles can hanlel herself ppurrffectly butt CMDR CATCOP es very protective of peeples he kares about like her and her good hearted PreeMex. BACK TO INGLES: As for the luggage tags: if I remember there were like 130 Original Flyertalkers who were to get them. Maybe for a nice Chrismtas gift or "if you make a purchase a free Flyertalk luggage tag." I leave it to webflyer to handle this, but BLADE deserves a tag. |
Thanks Catman. I hope we can get together again soon. I enjoyed greatly the dinner and drinking and conversation a few months ago with yourself et al in Philadelphia.
Tags or no tags, this board and the people that populate it are great. I just don't want to miss anyone who I only know my "name" in an airport because I have no tag. This is my last comment on the subject. ------------------ __________________________________________ Two wrongs may not make a right, but three lefts do. |
Now I'm going to have to get a tag, because I think I sat behind usoftie all the way from NRT to SEA on Sunday, and didn't find out about it until I came up on Monday. Sad.
Greg |
WOW! Ordered two tags and two pins last Monday and there they were in the mail today just in time for a trip to the airport Wednesday. That was fast, and I originally thought S&H was a bit steep, but I was actually charged only $1 for the entire order rather than the $2 indicated when I ordered. What a deal!
|
Y'know Punki, offering arturo a luggage tag was really a sneaky way to try get him to reveal his true identity!
|
As you will recall we woman are "wily" not sneaky. Only boys and snakeys are sneakies. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
In this instance, however, my offer was simply a gesture of thanks to arturo for all the times he has brightened my days. |

Thank you all for your PATIENCE with the luggage tags. Yes, I also recall a statement a while back to the point that tags would be sent to our loyal FlyerTalkers. No, I did not avoid that issue in my last response, I am just awaiting Randy's return so we can make this happen. We greatly appreciate your support of FlyerTalk and hope that you continue to enjoy being a member of this community in the future.
|
And a "double Thank You" to you too!

If you take a look at this July post, http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum97/HTML/000043.html , Randy says:
we'll kick off a campaign called "Get Talk" which is a 'Talker-Get-A-Talker" program. We want this board to grow and who better to assist with that then those who currently contribute. For every new frequent traveler you introduce to the board, you will earn a credit toward a mileage giveaway. For those of you who introduce a new talker who also posts something on the board, you will earn an additional credit. These credits offer you two things: a chance to earn some miles and discounts on the FT t-shirts and caps. An another note: If you are going to give away tags to the 'loyal flyertalkers', what designates 'loyal'. A member on FlyerTalk since a certain date, numbers of posts you have posted, etc? My suggestion, $1.50 is not a lot of money, if you want one, buy it... Don't worry about giving them away. [This message has been edited by steve100 (edited 11-18-1999).] |
