Is there a name for this?
I apologize in advance for not really knowing which forum to post this question.
Recently I have found two bookable nonstop commercial flights that operate between cities that do not normally have nonstop service due to a special event.
The examples are BNA-EYW on Delta nonstop. In May there was one BNA to EYW flight on a Wednesday (or maybe Thursday, I can't recall) and then one return EYW to BNA on Sunday, that coincides with the Key West Songwriter's festival, which Delta is involved with.
The other example is BNA-GNV on American nonstop 9/15/23 is BNA-GNV, 9/17/23 is GNV-BNA-- this coincides with the Tennessee vs Florida football game.
My question is, is there an industry name for these types of flights? Is there a way to find these kinds of flights? I find stuff like this really cool-- the ability to make a special weekend trip that otherwise you can't make.
Thanks for any help.
