Stamps Taken Away

Hi all. I could not find a or OTA forum so if this belongs elsewhere please feel free to move. I had a very bizarre situation, and I'm curious if anyone experienced anything like this. I recently came back from a multi-city trip Europe trip. Every stay was booked through During the trip everything worked out correctly and posted correctly. However, a few weeks after the trip removed 4 of the 5 stamps from the first stay saying "there has been a change". As a result of this they also removed an award night I earned. Customer service has been investigating and I did provide a credit card receipt for the stay along with the receipt indicating I stayed there. Has anyone had anything like this happen before? I usually like non-chain hotels in Europe and have found to be a great option, but after this experience it seems like for non-chain hotels I may be better off doing Chase Travel or Amextravel to just get the points and be done?

Possibly something on the hotels end

I think the hotel may be messing with something. Usually, with hotels, they work under a budget with the points paid out to the guests. It may have something to do with that or with the hotel disputing something with booking com or visa versa.

Some (if not most) hotels will price match between 3rd party sites and their dedicated booking portal. You just have to call them.

id call back booking com and even the hotels you stayed at (use Skype with a balance to call) and get documents. Id also demand an extra free night from booking com for wasting your time

They did resolve the problem by manually crediting the night. Phew! How odd!

I'm seeing my stamps taken away, or disappeared. There have been many instances over several years in which I'm continuously noticing stamps missing. I keep track and have noted that the amount of rooms I have spent versus what I am being rewarded has not added up. There have been multiple times over the years that has taken my stamps only to claim "we don't see anything wrong on our end", or they "just don't know what happened" or some other excuse. Recently I should have had 8 stamps - and now see zero AGAIN. Anyone else know what's going on and how have you dealt with this? I think we need to start a class action as I believe more and more these days that is acting in poor faith and practising unethically.
