Just FYI Agoda will charge 5% transaction fee on bookings made in foreign currency.

Yeah, I noticed this as well during the weekend when I made some hotel bookings in Vietnam. Agoda insist on converting the amount into your currency/the currency of the credit card and the exchange rate applied is quite bad. You can no longer choose to be charged in the currency of the hotel. However, to be fair Agoda was consistently cheaper than other OTA's due to discounts/promo codes applied. At the end of the day I believe that Agoda was still the cheapest despite the bad exchange rate applied.

I know this is an old-ish thread, but I just booked with them and was able to select the currency at the top of the page. I booked a room in China and was able to be charged in local currency (I did the pay in advance, free cancellation because the pay 2 days before visit was not available for the category I chose). Definitely saved a few dollars over the price they were showing me in USD.
