Trying to find best prices

Hello. I am trying to fly from SF to Phnom Penh and after looking at the CheapoAir website I saw that it was 498 if I'm trying to fly from March 25-30 (my spring break days). I was disappointed when I heard that on their end the cheapest price was 560. However considering I look at airline prices daily for a while I saw that in VERY early August (for argument's sake I'll just say I saw it in the first six days) that prices went back down to the 480 range that I saw since I first looked a year and a half ago. It was 3 dollars higher this time though at 483. Look to get a reservation for the LOWEST price (I only want to talk about economic reason) assuming it's in August, how beneficial do you think it is to call and ask about it in July? If not when is a good time if the lowest price comes out in really early August? Oh and for the record my airline is China Eastern

I often find myself looking for the lowest price, but check other websites for prices, especially Google Flights. Since you mention spring break, I assume you may be a student, so studentuniverse sometimes has deals and coupons for those currently enrolled in universities. I looked up leaving March 24 to April 1st from SFO to PNH, and while the cheapest price was $573, it was on United and Asiana, which are considered higher than airlines in Mainland China due to changing airports.

Although I am flying with China Eastern for my spring break travels, it was for a savings of hundreds of dollars. In that situation you find yourself in, I know $80 can go towards other expenses, but I would go with the United/Asiana tickets. Another thing to keep in mind is that ticket prices can change wildly even with coming back a day earlier or leaving a day later. For your spring break example, if you return on March 31, the ticket is now 900, even though it's the same airlines as the 573 ticket leaving on April 1.

Hopefully this information is helpful and good luck on searching for the cheapest deals possible. I was fortunate to get a really good deal on tickets back in November, but the longer you wait the more likely prices go even higher.

All the good advice from your previous threads about the similar, if not the same, trip still stands:

I doubt you'd get different opinions this time. If after spending a watchful eye on the fares over a year, you finally get one you are comfortable with, I say go for it. Keep in mind your traveling date is approaching and good fares can be gone in any minute.
