Kayak.com Outrageous Breach in Privacy
I have spoken with Kayak who have assured me that this problem is now being addressed and investigated fully. I also understand that a public statement will be made shortly and that FT'ers will get an update.

So, Kayak is not a booking agency, right... Did you and other customers enter flight itinerary info into their reminder system?
How would order/CC information end up with Kayak if the transaction were with a third party provider?

worst case I ever saw. A simple "guess" and I had access to way too much information for several different people.Hope Kayak fixes this asap.

I never use Kayak (I always book directly with airline / hotel) but I saw this thread and, like others have said, a quick "guess" got me an abundance of information. Really, really bad.
While I know it is good to inform the FT community of issues like this - it might not be a good idea to post security compromises so publicly. You never know how "trustworthy" everyone here really is.

Just tried some common Names (Smith, Miller) and a 4-digit-number...so many results!
I do not want to know where Amanda Smith oder Mike Smith stayed and I do not want that anybody sees what I booked. Unbelievable!

My main concern is that there are a lot of Smiths, Joneses, Millers, and Williams that don't have credit their flights or stays to any program at all.
...but seriously, Kayak needs to fix this mess quick.
