DONE4 problems, booked with AA who fail to change dates when requested!!!
Hello,
I bought a DONE4 with AA, I have had constant problems with my bookings, myself and partner. In that every time we make a change to a flight, the date, when we get to the airport to check in they say the change has not taken place. Now I am flying MEL-SYD-JNB, AA have assured me the change has been done. I have heard this incorrectly 3 times before. My issue is the MEL-SYD-JNB flights are very early: MEL-SYD 6:30am SYD-JNB 10:30am and they are on QF. I am concerned I will get to the airport only for QF to say your booking is not for these dates and I will be stranded as I did the booking with AA who will need to make the changes. Some advice would be much appreciated - how do I make sure I am going to be getting on my flights? |
If you check your booking on AA.com (or QF.com if you have the QF PNR) the current state of the booking will be shown. What is shown there should be what is on the airlines systems, and in my experience when you make a change to a flight or date, it is reflected in the online view.
You could also look at it on Checkmytrip.com to see the some information. |
Sometimes the ticket number doesn't get pushed to the new flights though which I suspect has been your problem so far.
You could call QF and ask them to check if the ticket number is associated to the new flight sectors. |
Check with the operating carrier if the booking has come through.
I had a similar problem but with opposite roles. QF did the change and AA operated the flight. Booking did not exist for AA and I had to fly ORD-BOS via YYZ instead of nonstop because all direct services were full. I also lost all susequent legs because of "no show" (AA claimed QF made a double booking instead of a date change). Nevertheless QF claimed everything was fine in their system - thus better check with the operating carrier (if they say you're booked, then you're fine, no matter what the booking carrier says). BTW, do AA and QF have problems in booking each other's flights? Does anybody know more about this? |
