Suggestions for OW programt to credit BA miles?

I asked a similar question last year and didn't put enough details in and the advice was to credit with AA and I dont think that is the best option.

I have a few BA paid business class flights each year, I think last year it was about 25k miles flown. Some of these are US-LHR (which dont credit to AA) and I dont fly AA at all. So last year I didnt get any status on AA as a result of BA flights alone (because I didnt get the minimum 4 segments on AA) and I didnt realize the US-LHR flights do not accrue anything on AA.

I am about to take my first BA flight this week and wanted to see what people would suggest, again I expect about 25k miles or slightly more on them this year:

credit to BA- probably enough to get silver tier status, plus combined with one of their credit cards I can get enough miles to do something with

credit to AS- no EQMs but 125% miles, better than nothing

Any other options that would make sense?

Depending on your flights (distance) and status credit earned, if you want status, it may be nice to credit your BA business class flights to QFF. I believe QFF program has one of the best elite status earning scheme when you fly in premium class.

Otherwise, I think you should credit them to BA program if your travel earns you BA Silver... which is almost as good, if not better, as *G status.

What do want? Status, or redemptions. QF may be easier for status but their redemption rates are pretty horrid. 25K flown miles in BA Club earns you 38K miles to spend. Add in a credit card bonus and you have enough miles to upgrade 2 premium economy tickets.

Note also that QF now is enforcing the mandatory 4 flights with QF codes.

If you have access to a European mailing address, checking out the Eurocheat option on the BA thread may proce fruitful.

Happy wandering

I echo the others - QF if you are looking for status and no joining fee if you are outside of Australia / NZ.

I am in a similar position, as I fly BA Club World and Club Europe from time to time, but not enough to justify Exec Club. I moved from NZ to the UK three years ago, and took my QFF membership with me, but with QF enforcing 4 QF flights a year to earn status I have missed out. I haven't had any good reason to fly QF that often.

So while earning rate is good, I'd suggest that unless you can find a way to fit in four QF sectors a year, you might think again as you wont get status.
