Expected members:
FJ - Fiji Airways
Currently the only oneworld Connect member, FJ stated 28FEB24 that they would like to seek full membership and would apply in Q3 2024.Full membership may still take until 2025/2026. #1489 and https://onemileatatime.com/news/fiji-airways-oneworld/
EI - Aer Lingus
EI's new owners, IAG (owners of existing members BA+IB), stated before acquisition that they fully intended EI to rejoin, and have restated the intention since completing the purchase. EI has not yet been publically 'invited' by oneworld but should join eventually. When? When it's announced... When will EI become a full member of Oneworld?

I am still of the opinion that a certain SYD-centric airline will have European flights from PER over the current management's dead bodies. And until J* is a OW affiliate, they will have to bring their prices down a LOT further to be of interest.
But the airline industry in slowly changing - even in Australia.
Happy wandering

+1 and probably with very good reason. Premium cabin traffic ex-Per is probably limited, and coming from east coast, which is preferable? A quick easy change at Changi or the whole charade of getting tickets for the bus to go from dom-intl at PER...

Back to the Original Question
What would a Frontier Airlines addition mean for oneworld?
Certainly seems it would be tremendous for Frontier, but not sure if the other global partners would value such an addition.

India's leading domestic carrier and only five-star airline, Kingfisher Airlines, is lining up to join oneworld® after signing a memorandum of understanding as its first step towards full membership of the world's leading quality airline alliance, subject to Indian regulatory approval.
The agreement was concluded at a meeting between Kingfisher Airlines' Chairman Vijay Mallya and Chief Executives from oneworld's 11 existing member airlines, which include some of the best and biggest names in the industry.
Kingfisher Airlines today applied to India's Ministry of Civil Aviation for authority to proceed with its membership of oneworld.
A target date for Kingfisher Airlines to join the alliance will be confirmed once this approval is gained. The process to bring any airline on board normally takes around 18 months to complete, so Kingfisher Airlines could be expected to start flying as part of oneworld during 2011.

They could run SYD-PER-FCO, just the same as they do SYD-ADL-SIN.

I think OW's big gap is mainland China.
It has been said that China Eastern would join the OW but a few time ago, the China Eastern decided to join the ST.
Now, the only option for OW in mainland China is Hainan Airlines. But HU did not have a big and strong hub in the main cities in China and did not have many flight to Korea, Japan and other Asia Cities.

Hainan Airlines, the fourth largest airline company in China, has announced plans to launch two new routes and join the Oneworld Alliance this year to make up for its shortage in overseas airline networks.
