Whew, okay. All set with my booking!

Slightly below 50K BIS. But the routing is:

PUS-NRT-xDEL-NRT-xBKK-SYD-EZE-xLIM-SCL-xLIM-EZE-xLHR-xDXB-LHR-xGVA-xHEL-ICN (PUS - Pusan, South Korea, ICN - Incheon, South Korea)

Taxes were surprisingly low! 511,000 KRW ~ approximately 350 USD.

AA agent said that taxes with AA tickets are low because AA does not collect partner airline's fuel surcharge. So I suspect (as I have no AA segments) that the tax portions are purely airport taxes and government tax. ;)

Now, I am hoping to book another one, before the currency (USD) devalues against KRW (this time, a personal trip, above was for work trip).

Proposed routing for a new trip:

ICN-NRT-xSIN-xLHR-xMCT-xLHR-xIST-xLHR-xEZE-xLIM-xCCS-xLIM-xEZE-xSYD-xBOM-HKG-ICN

This is about 53K miles.

I assume taxes should be similar as before. :D

Thanks OW and thanks guys for your help. Now, I feel like I know OW thing better. ;) I used to know most of the stuff with UA...

Or before there is a fare increase (Oneworld increases fares once it is clear that a currency has dropped for good and it isn't a transient aberation; often to be higher than the ex-US fare level as they presume there will be further drops). For some countries that are chronically unstable they switch the fare quote to be in USD. I would expect the ex-Korea fare to change next month, so if you are serious about this trip, best to reserve it today (there is a grace period after a fare increase is announced, for pending bookings).

Try the alternate site: http://slfft.allhyper.com/0.95/award.htm

If this is still a problem I'm happy to try to host copies on a couple of sites I have.

It's frequently unavailable at that address, I've often wondered if I (or someone else) might be able to host copies.

Doh! - There's already an alternative MileageMonkey site: http://slfft.zendfree.com/

Note that the typical convention is that "xSIN" means a connection at SIN, not a stopover. I suspect you have that reversed.

Guys, if I change the routing after ticketing it's 125 USD per change, not per segment, right? So, technically, I should be able to change every single sector, correct?

I currently hold

ICN-NRT-DEL-NRT-BKK-SYD-EZE-LIM-SCL-LIM-EZE-LHR-DXB-LHR-GVA-HEL-ICN

But schedule may be changing mid-trip (or even before the trip starts - I leave on the 4th of Jan) for one of my destination for work (BKK), where I may need to include it towards the end of the trip.

So, before departure I could change to following (and I would only incur 125USD change fee plus or minus any tax change):

ICN-HKG-BOM-SYD-EZE-LIM-SCL-IPC-SCL-MAD-GVA-LHR-DXB-LHR-SIN/BKK-NRT-ICN

After departure (fly first three segments) - would I incur only 125 USD change fee for following routing change?

(ICN-NRT-DEL-NRT)-SYD-EZE-LIM-SCL-IPC-SCL-MAD-GVA-LHR-DXB-LHR-HKG-ICN

If it's all done in one reissue then yes, correct.

This would be valid:

Nice... on the QF programme that nets up 91,872 miles (after cabin and elite bonuses for Plats) as well as a whopping 1,660 Status Credits; easily enough to renew WP stats and send you well on your way to Partner Gold. I don't think I've even come within 20K miles of that earn on previous RTWs. Almost makes me want to fly J again.... ;)

DONE3 comments?

:D

Now, mileage monkey says following routing is valid... but you never know what the agents might say...

Please comment away following routing.

ICN-HKG-YVR-MEX-YVR-MEX-YVR-MEX-LHR-MCT-LHR-IST-LHR-NRT-CGK-NRT-ICN

Whopping 49,869 miles. :D Note all the YVR-MEX flights. ;)

Now, not as exciting as my current DONE4 (taking me to places like SCL, SYD, IPC, DEL)... but almost same amount of mileage for about 1,000,000 KRW less!

About 10 cents per mile... inclusive of estimated taxes when booked with AA, which I think is a pretty good deal in premium cabin.

Isn't IST now on the 2 flight lmit list as part of Middle East? I thought OW made that change when Romania and Bulgaria were added (which are closer than IST to LHR).

You do know that YVR taxes are higher than normal, though not at the UK level, so that adds more taxes than LAX-MEX would, for example. Routing hkg-fk-sju-lax-mex-yvr-mex gets you over 1k miles more than with your yvr-mex loop (unless you really need to be in yvr and mex that often) and you don't care about the extra mileage.

MileageMonkey says there's no OW service LAX-MEX.

The OP cannot enter the US due to visa issues, so that doesn't seem to be an option.
YVR-MEX-YVR is only 2 times weekly though, and requires an overnight stay in MEX.

No.
Code:

(h) A minimum of 3 and maximum of 16 segments, including surface segments between any 2 airports,
are permitted for the entire journey. Free flight segments within each continent are limited as
follows:
Africa 4
Asia 4
Europe / Middle East 4 (Not more than 2 of which may be between the UK and ALGERIA,
BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA, BULGARIA, CROATIA, CYPRUS,
GREECE, ISRAEL, MALTA, MIDDLE EAST , MOROCCO, PORTUGAL,
ROMANIA, RUSSIA, SERBIA, TUNISIA, UKRAINE
whether part of the free continent allowance of 4 coupons, purchased as
additional coupons, or a combination of both)

North America 6
South America 4
South West Pacific 4

Middle east definition has never included Turkey. Romania and Bulgaria have been on the list at list since 1/21/2003. See:

Yes, this is correct. Until I can resolve my US visa issues (not that I want to return to the US any time soon ;)), I won't be able to travel through the US. Canada is possible, however. All of YVR-MEX segments are part of MR. But for each visit to MEX, I should have some objective (visit different parts of Mexico via separate ticket).

Let me put it through with AA agent and see what type of exact tax will be added to the base fare.
